Spotify’s latest India Loud & Clear report shows that Indian artists generated nearly 335 billion streams in 2025, while royalties generated by Indian artists grew by 29% year over year. Even more interestingly, I-Pop — popular Indian music released outside film soundtracks — accounted for half of Spotify India’s 2025 year-end Top 10.
Artists don’t necessarily need a major film release to find an audience anymore.
A good song can travel from a bedroom, rehearsal room, or small recording studio to listeners across the country — and potentially across the world.

The technology needed to create music has become more accessible.
